Q: Where does the conference take place?

A: The conference will take place at Fordham University School of Law (Lincoln Center) on Thursday, 6/28 and Friday 6/29. On Saturday 6/30 the conference will take place in conjunction with SABA-North America at the Grand Hyatt, New York.

Q: What are the benefits of attending the conference?

A: Our 20th Annual Conference will be an incredible opportunity to network with both peers and prominent attorneys from across North America, all coming together in New York City. Together, we will explore how South Asian law students across North America can come together as one community and promote, internally and externally, a unified South Asian voice.

In addition, our conference will consist of joint events with the South Asian Bar Association of North America, socials, an open bar on the rooftop of The Delancey, and more! Visit for more information.

Q: What will be happening on each day of the conference?

A: Our Opening Reception will be held on Thursday evening. We will hold workshops during the day on Friday, followed by a social event in the evening. On Saturday, we will hold workshops in conjunction with SABA-North America.

Q: What meals will be served at the conference?

Q: What should I wear?

A: For your comfort, business casual is appropriate. We request that you dress in business attire on Saturday, 6/30 when we will be partnering with SABA-North America.

Q: Where should I stay during the conference?

A: We have a hotel block booked at Empire Hotel (right around the corner from Fordham Law School). See below for the rates and how to book your spot.

Superior King Room: $249/night

Superior Double Room: $269/night

Guests can call in their reservations directly to the Empire Hotel Reservations team at 855-265-7400 OR follow this link to book. Please reference the North American South Asian Law Students to receive the group discounted rates. All reservations have a 72 hour cancellation policy. Late cancellations and No Shows will be charged by the hotel for one night’s accommodation.

Q: How do I get to the conference?
A: If you are flying, LaGuardia airport is closest to Manhattan. Cab fares from LGA are metered and cost around $35 to Midtown. For just $2.75, you can get from LaGuardia to Manhattan (through Harlem and Morningside Heights) by taking the M60 SBS express bus — but the bus can be crowded and the trip takes about 45 minutes.

JFK and Newark airports are good airport alternatives — and are the primary destination for international flights, but ground transportation options cost more. Use the airport websites to explore your options and estimated costs.

Q: Is there funding available to help with travel/registration costs?

A: We are currently working on coming up with scholarship opportunities to assist students in attending our conference. We will post updates soon.

Q: How can I become a conference sponsor?

A: For information regarding sponsorship and advertising opportunities at NASALSA’s 20th Annual Convention, please contact Pooja Mehta at

Q: My question is not listed here. Whom do I contact?

A: Please contact Roshni Advani at
