CALLING ALL CURRENT LAW STUDENTS:

Calling all CURRENT law school students! NASALSA will be hosting a writing competition for law students currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school graduating after May 2024.

TOPIC: Describe how your values, experiences, and education have already played a role in supporting South Asian communities during your time in law school. Discuss specific instances or initiatives where you have made a positive impact and elaborate on the lessons learned from these experiences. Additionally, discuss your ongoing and future plans to further contribute to the well-being and empowerment of South Asian communities through your legal education. Keep your essay focused on concrete examples and the actionable steps you've taken or plan to take to support these communities.

REQUIREMENTS: Your essay must be between 1000 to 1200 words. All essays must be submitted anonymously. Please do not include your name, your school(s), or any other identifier that would reveal your identity. It is completely okay to discuss your nationality, religion, sexuality, etc. as well as specific school/ community initiatives by name. To apply for the current law student writing competition, you must be currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school and graduating after May 2024. This opportunity is open to all future law students regardless of race, color, religion, citizenship, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, military service, disability, or any other characteristic or condition protected by applicable law.

DUE DATE: March 29, 2024 @11:59pm CT

First Place: $500

Second Place: $300
